I am the Chief Executive of Ludger and Director of the Ludgera Consortium, a group of companies developing better ways to address the pandemic of chronic inflammatory diseases (cIDs). 'Better' means significantly safer, more effective, affordable, and accessible than current methods. 'Ways' covers personalised, precision healthcare and precision medicine (PM). Ludgera PM programmes I lead include GlyHealth, a family of blood glycomics-based prognostic and predictive biomarkers for high-burden cIDs. As well as glycomics, I'm slightly obsessed with the aetiology, tracking, and mitigation of central adiposity and its sequelae. This stems from my developing a magnificently fat belly while developing and applying glycomics technology many years ago at the University of Oxford. It took an entire decade for me to discover the principles of safe, effective fat belly mitigation, and strangely enough, tracking glycomics signals of chronic inflammation helped a great deal.
